Scenography 2019

Location: Pianofabriek rue du Fortstraat 35 Bruxelles

Marie Lecrivain (proto-prototype Martin Campillo), Colm O'Neill: Collectie van onzekerheden

30th May 2019

Early thoughts:

  • screen that you can interact with (mouse+keyboard) where you can go through the collection of uncertainties
  • a wall / table of one entire collection (perhaps as a backdrop to the screen)

---

  • image
  • text

not yet clear how to divide

shouldn't be monumental, but rather weird and small and if that's not possible, it could be a standalone structure

Michael Murtaugh, Nicolas Malevé: Different orders co-exist

  • Interactive installation where participants / visitors can draw forms which are interpreted live by a closed-circuit computer vision (CCCV) system. Based on a "ready-made" model trained on sketches from one of 250 pre-determined categories. The model is also used to make connections between the visitors drawing and items from the collection of the Musical Intrument Museum (MIM).

screen

there will a video about Wikipedia containing documentation, short statements

ref to work by Just For The Record: they actually printed the banner of imbalance in a large format, and hanged it across the room

multiple banners

possible to visit a Wikimedia Belgium/Netherlands conference? eg General Assembly 2019

ideally: a space in the space where the projection happens (projection could be from the outside; three sides projected and one that is the entrance)

projection is a collage, it needs to be comfortable for visitors to see individual elements making up the collage

An Mertens: Data made to speak / voorwerpen spreken / objets parlants

title change: Data Made to Speak

she is exploring Wikidata to see what is possible, it can work with both images and text

unclear where to make the difference between the interfaces that are already there and some more accessible

wants to play with the languages of what's already there

first part (until October): looking at the orderings; second part (): introducing narration

new thoughts: keep the catalogue idea

possibly screen and Raspberry Pi + projection + internet connection + a printer (to print the catalogue)

Phil Langley, Mia Melvaer: Materiële Reizen Door Andere Realiteiten

"we need space"

the area needs to be defined: maybe through a carpet (tactileness), or something that makes sound: loud carpet

regular carpet!

space that is flexible

something even 4x4

people should be able to even walk within this landscape

2 tablet devices (they need to be charged), but visitors can use their own (phone)

small headphones with mike - 4

instructions are necessary: could be on a podium (maybe through the audioguide)

ask Pianofabriek about security!

Cristina Cochior: Veranderingen en verschuivingen

Zoumana Meïte, Martino Morandi: Een nieuwe vuurceremonie

screen, maybe interactive

map of the collection

projection of an internal view of statues

flatten the view and put all the objects of the collection inside the statue as part of a webpage
