Sketchy recognition/2020

2020 Installation

For the online installation of Sketchy Reconition, we plan a multiform online publication that (1) documents the experiences of the pianofabriek installation, (2) provides addition context in the form of text, software probes, and video, and (3) provides a means for participation through a PDF coloring book (drawings can be submitted back), and an online discussion / collective drawing sesstion.

Materials we have

• Detourned carmentis -- pianofabriek interface + materials
• Coloring book(s) (the PDF of contour forms used in pianofabriek) (TODO: upload)
• The animation cells -- photos taken in the installation as people were drawing (todo: are these complete?)
• The scans of completed drawings (made at pianofabriek) (todo: upload)
• Previous notes including links to first selection process of contours
• Musical instruments, hygenic pseudo-neutral space of the musem.
• Classification that comes from the quickdraw data set. (also culturally heavy)
• The mismatch of how things are (mis) classified...
