Welcome to DiVersions
→ DiVersions experiments with the potential of digital archives (of cultural institutions, or cultural heritage) as a site for decolonial and intersectional practice.
→ It is a reflection and speculation on how databased tools, infrastructures and protocols can work with and through difference.
→ DiVersions tests how techniques and technologies of networked collaboration can support other imaginations of the digital archive.
The two-year project is centered around seven artists proposals applied to several different e-collections (Wikimedia, Museum for art and history, Werkplaats immaterieel erfgoed,...). Their proposals are collectively developed and presented twice. Each version will be accompanied by a version of a catalog, a workshop and a public discussion. The second version of DiVersions will be presented in De Krook, Gent in spring 2020.
Partners: PACKED, RoSa, UGent, Werkplaats immaterieel erfgoed.
